Horror and Politics

Like most, I’m fascinated by this year’s election. Specifically, the republican nominees. Although Hill-dog and Bern-dog are very interesting too. And the debates are more entertaining than an episode of Honey Boo Boo. Sadly, they rest in the same category as well. The greatness of all of this is the wave of ideas for horror projects that has flooded my mind as the result of these debates. I have outlined five or six projects already. But this also got me thinking. Horror ideas are the product of what aspect of the primaries? Art is a reflection. So, I have been groveling over this and came up with a few ideas of why I’ve been having these ideas. 1) The silliness of what I’m seeing contrasted with the intensity of what these debates are leading to: the presidency. 2) How does power effect people? (I have a great idea for a cannibalistic torture monger influenced by none other than… wait for it: Hilary Clinton. Imagine her in a dungeon torturing women that her husband has laid lustful eyes on.); and 3) Is there a good guy somewhere in here?

And this is my thought of the day.
